Offshore Systems (UK) Ltd are the world’s leading manufacturer of marine tank level measurement senders and displays for the NMEA2000 marine network.

We produced the world’s first NMEA2000 Fuel Level Sender which can measure tank levels from 250mm right up to 2 metres deep. We also produced the world’s first NMEA2000 Tank Sender Adaptor which enables resistive tank senders in Fuel, Fresh Water, Waste Water and Black Water tanks to transmit their level onto the NMEA2000 marine network.

One of our most successful products has been our revolutionary Fuel Deck Filler Gauge which displays the Tank Level right at the point of filling. This eliminates refuelling spills which cause so much pollution and are a serious fire hazard and allows the vessel to have maximum range from full fuel tanks.

We design and manufacture our products in the United Kingdom and sell the worldwide through a dedicated team of distributors and dealers chosen for their ability to understand their customers needs and to recommend the best solution to meet those needs.

NMEA2000® to Modbus Gateway

The 3155 NMEA2000® to Modbus Gateway provides a powerful solution to convert NMEA2000 messages from engines, tank senders, generators, AC monitors, battery banks, battery chargers and control switches to the Modbus RS485 format.

Large yacht monitoring systems use the Modbus RS485 standard to communicate with PLCs and sensors on board to control and monitor on board systems such as tank levels, pump, ventilators, lighting, alarms and other equipment.

Marine equipment manufacturers are increasingly using the NMEA2000 interface to output data from engines, generators, tank senders, battery chargers and other equipment. The 3155 NMEA2000 to Modbus Gateway provides the perfect link from these device interfaces to the long established Modbus based systems. The Gateway is designed to be DIN rail mounted is a suitable location conveniently positioned to connect by a single cable to the NMEA2000® network and a single RS485 cable to the Modbus system.

With this Gateway the Modbus system can simply interrogate the NMEA2000® data from the attached devices and even control up to 8 banks of 28 switches/relays to control on board facilities.

It comes with a detailed User Manual that identifies what NMEA2000 data is available, it’s content, the data format and the data range with the Modbus address to read or control that data.

The Offshore Systems 3410 DC Monitor accurately measures the DC voltage, the DC current and the attached battery temperature and reports them over the NMEA2000® network. It also calculates the current state of charge and the battery life remaining at the current rate of discharge.

The unit can be used for batteries, alternators, solar panels and wind generators. It can also measure the voltage and current being drawn by DC loads such as Inverters, refrigerators etc..

The unit keeps a track of loads and battery condition even when the NMEA2000® network is powered off so the total current draw or battery condition is always maintained and is known when the network is next powered on. Battery monitoring is done using the latest circuitry and software that includes the charge efficiency factor, the battery temperature and Peukerts exponent to calculate the remaining capacity accurately and efficiently.

The current sensing is done by either a latest state of the art DC Current Transformer placed around the conductor with no need to break the connection or by two stages of shunts for currents up to either 500 Amps or 1200 Amps for larger vessels.

The connections to the sensors are made via boat builder preferred WAGO Cage Clamp terminals which allow either solid or multistranded wires from 0.08 to 2.5mm² to be connected quickly and securely. Much more secure than screw terminals which can vibrate loose over time.

The 3410 can be either panel mounted or din rail mounted using it’s optional DIN rail mounting clips.

The unit comes with a detailed User Manual and is certified to the NMEA2000® network standard.

The 3271 NMEA2000® Volumetric Fuel Sender provides very accurate measurement of either the remaining Fuel LEVEL or the remaining Fuel VOLUME to the NMEA2000® network.

It is accurate to ±2% and automatically provides a stilling action to dampen out fuel slosh in the tank to maximise accuracy when conditions are rough or the boat is travelling quickly.

The 3271 can be programmed with up to 100 volumetric points so that it offers the most accurate indication of the remaining VOLUME of fuel in the tank. This volume information can then be displayed on any NMEA2000® enabled display wherever it is required.

No more volume inaccuracies caused by having to set just 8 or 16 volumetric points.

No ultrasonic “dead band” which makes it impossible to measure the fuel in the top 75mm or 3 inches of the Fuel tank!

Just rugged dependable accuracy with over 4,000 units installed worldwide with NO failures. It is now standard fitting on many well known power and sail boat builders.

It is robustly constructed in stainless steel with no moving parts to stick or fail in service. It is available to suit tank depths from 250mm to 3 metres and is self calibrating at power on.

The sender constantly monitors the fuel for any water contamination and warns if any is found to protect the engine from expensive damage.

It is easily fitted in the fuel tank using the industry standard SAE 5 bolt fitting or a 1.25″ BSP threaded mount. Up to 16 Fuel Level Senders can be connected to a single network and the sender number is simply selectable at installation by means of the small rotary switch.

3271-SAM NMEA2000® Sender Averaging Module
The Offshore Systems 3271-SAM Sender Averaging Module solves the problem of innaccurate tank level gauge readings caused by the tank contents moving to the aft of a long tank when the boat is in a bows up attitude whilst under power.

The module calculates a mathematical average of two tank senders mounted in the tank and outputs that result in a standard Tank Level PGN 127505 so that all attached displays display the average value of the tank level.

The unit is designed to greatly simplify installation with NO user setup or calibration required and NO display menus to struggle through. Simply set the Device Instance switch on the front of the unit to the required Tank Instance and the unit takes care of everything else.

The 3271-SAM signals if either sender is missing or has detected water in the tank so that the user can be confident of the quality of the readings.

It is fully waterproof to IP67 and ruggedly constructed in an aluminium frame for years of reliable and accurate service.

The 3281 NMEA2000® Universal Water Tank Sender will provide a ±2% accurate level in either a Fresh, Grey or Black water tank to the NMEA2000® marine network and reports it’s level in 1% increments.



It is robustly constructed in stainless steel with no moving parts to stick or fail in service. It is easily cut to length to suit tank depths from 200mm to 2 metres and is self calibrating at power on.

The Tank Level Sender can store an alphanumeric Tank Name and Tank Shape Calibration data so that displays on the network can show the tank name and it’s remaining capacity in Litres, US Gallons or in Gallons.

It is easily fitted in the water tank into a 1.25″ BSP threaded hole. It can also be attached to the industry standard SAE 5 bolt fitting by using the optional 5 Bolt to 1.25″ BSP Mounting Ring part number 3261.

 Up to 16 of each type of water Tank Level Senders can be connected to a single network and the sender number is simply selectable at installation by means of the small rotary switch.

Sender Adaptor
The 3125 NMEA2000® Tank Sender Adaptor allows a standard resistive tank level sender to connect to the NMEA2000® network.

It is compatible with both European standard 0-180 Ohm and United States standard 240-30 Ohm tank level senders and is accurate to ±1%.

3135 NMEA2000 Resistive Gauge Driver

The NMEA2000® Resistive Gauge Driver drives existing resistive analogue tank level gauges directly from the NMEA2000® network.


The unit is switch selectable to support Fuel, Fresh Water, Grey Water or Black Water gauges. A second switch allows the user to choose which of up to 16 tanks of each type are to be displayed. No complicated software menu setups on a central display and no calibration required!

This unit can drive European Standard 0-180 Ohm and US Standard 230-30 Ohm gauges in both 12 and 24 volt installations.

The Resistive Gauge Driver can also light the level alarm indicator bulb in the gauge when the fuel or fresh water level falls below 20% or the waste or black water tanks exceeds 80% of the tank level.

The Offshore Systems 3340 Colour MultiFunction Displayprovides a compact and flexible solution to display all the ships Tanks, DC Sources and AC Sources on a single sunlight readable bright colour display.

The 3340 is simply connected to the NMEA2000

® network with a single cable and all the NMEA2000® tank senders, battery monitors and AC source monitors will display their information on the multi page display.It has a high resolution sunlight readable colour display in a compact 95mm square rugged format. No need to have larger cumbersome separate displays for all these functions any more.

The 3330 NMEA2000® MultiTank Display can show the tank levels ofALL the Fuel, Fresh Water, Grey Water, Black Water, Oil and Live Well tanks on a single graphical display. There can be multiple 3330 MultiTank Displays on a single network so the same information can be displayed in a multi station environment.

The unit can show 1, 2 or 4 tanks at a time as either gauges, bar graphs or in digital form.

Each display shows the tank level as a percentage and the remaining tank volume in either Litres, US Gallons or in Gallons.

The display also shows a tank name that can be entered by the owner so that the tank display is more meaningful. This can say for example “Port Forward Fuel Tank” etc.. The name given to the tank will then show the same on any MultiTank Display thus making the displays consistent and very user friendly.

Each tank can be set an alarm warning level so that Fuel or Fresh Water tanks getting low or Grey or Black Water tanks getting high will alert the owner.

The MultiTank Display is a DIN standard 110x110mm graphical display that is waterproof to IP67. It is certified to the NMEA2000 network standard and attaches to the network using a single “Micro” plug. It draws less than 150mA from the network.

It comes complete with a full installation and operation manual and combined power and signal cable. It takes power from the NMEA2000® network and requires no additional wiring.

Panel Gauge

The 3350-F Fuel Level Panel Gauge displays the level of the boats fuel tank on a bright and clear blue LED digital display.

The NMEA2000® system allows for up to 16 fuel tank senders on a single network and this gauge can be set to display the level of any single fuel tank sender.

It has a red LED lamp that flashes and a sounder that beeps when the level falls below the user settable low level threshold. The Mute button stops the silences the sounder when it is pressed. There is a blue LED digital Tank Level display that varies in brightness as the ambient light level varies.


The 3350-F is fitted with a 10 amp changeover relay that can control other devices such as pumps or external warning devices. This relay has normally open and normally closed contacts and is activated whenever the low level alarm condition is present.

The unit mounts entirely in a standard 2″ diameter panel hole and the gauge front and the panel seal are both to IP66.

3211 Deck Filler Gauge Lock and Keys
Our 3210 Deck Filler Gauges for NMEA2000® senders display the tank level right at the tank’s deck filler. This enables the user to see the exact tank level at the point of filling. This allows the tanks to be filled to the top without the risk of spills or wastage.

These units are available with either “Diesel“, “Fuel“, “Gas” or “Water” Laser engraved into the mirror polished top surface and for either 50mm/2″ or 38mm/1.5″ filler pipe diameters.

The tank level is displayed on a blue LED display set into the deck filler surround. This provides a clear indication of the level of the liquid in the tank at all times. The LED varies in brightness to compensate for ambient light levels, brighter in sunlight and dimmer at night.

The deck filler cap has a recess for a standard opening key with a heavy duty O ring seal to keep water out of the tank. The deck filler surround and cap are mirror polished stainless steel to provide a rugged and attractive finish.

3210-Dual Dual Deck Gauge NMEA2000

 

The 3210 Dual Deck Gauge displays the levels of TWO fuel tanks right at the tank’s deck fillers. This enables the user to see the exact tank level at the point of filling. This allows the tanks to be filled without the risk of spills or wastage.

Each tank level is displayed on a blue LED display set into the dual deck gauge. This provides a clear indication of the level of the liquid in the tanks at all times. The LED varies in brightness to compensate for ambient light levels, brighter in sunlight and dimmer at night.

It can have either standard front wording or a custom laser etch of the boat builder’s logo and tank names and their choice of wording as illustrated here.

3478 NMEA2000® Relay Output Module 8 Way
The Offshore Systems 3478 Relay Output Module – 8 Way allows messages over the NMEA2000® network to directly control 8 power relays using standard NMEA2000® PGN messages.

Each of these relays are each totally isolated and can be connected to any mix of DC or AC control circuits each controlling up to 16 Amps at 35 Volts DC or 250 Volts AC resistive load.

Normal applications for these relays would be providing remote alarm inputs, pump management, power switching contactors, light control and many other applications where power needs to be controlled over the network.

Each 3478 has a switch settable Switch Bank Instance to allow multiple Relay Output Modules on a single network.

The connections to the relays are made via boat builder preferred WAGO Cage Clamp terminal blocks which allow either solid or multi-stranded wires from 0.08 to 2.5mm² to be connected quickly and securely. Each relay output also has a tell tale green LED to indicate when each relay is operated.

The 3478 is operated from the standard NMEA2000

® Switch Bank Control PGN 127502 from any NMEA2000® controller. The unit also transmits the standard NMEA2000® Switch Bank Status PGN 127501 every 2 seconds to keep the network updated.The 3478 can be either panel mounted or din rail mounted using optional mounting clips.

4410 NMEA2000® 16 Channel
Switch Input Module
The Offshore Systems 4410 16 Channel Switch Input Module monitors switch closure devices and reports their status over the NMEA2000® network.

These devices can include fire/smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, bilge and flood float detectors, doorway and porthole closure detectors, valve status detectors and many more. With this module and suitable NMEA2000® displays the status of all these items can be viewed anywhere on the vessel.

The unit has PLC quality inputs that are manufactured to IEC 61131 and IEC61000 standards so they are optically isolated and fully protected against ESD, Voltage Surges and Transients to ensure the most reliable operation at all times.

It is compatible with either 12 or 24 Volt systems and requires NO user setup menus but the simple setting of two small rotary address switches so multiple units can exist on the same network.

The connections to the unit are made via boat builder preferred WAGO Cage Clamp terminal blocks which allow either solid or multistranded wires from 0.08 to 1.5mm² to be connected quickly and securely. Each switch input also has a tell tale green LED to indicate when it is active.

The 4410 can be either panel mounted or din rail mounted using the mounting clips provided.

The unit comes with a detailed User Manual and is certified to the NMEA2000® network standard.

3165 NMEA2000® Rudder
Angle Adaptor
The Offshore Systems 3165 Rudder Angle Adaptor allows standard European or American standard resistive rudder angle senders to transmit their rudder position over the NMEA2000® network.

The unit is designed to greatly simplify installation with NO user setup or calibration required and NO display menus to struggle through.

In multiple rudder installations the sender type selection and the device instance setup is simply done with the small rotary switch on the unit.

The 3165 has a red port LED and a green starboard LED that flash to indicate the unit is transmitting the appropriate rudder position. The mechanical setup of the rudder angle sender is greatly simplified by setting the rudder midships and then adjusting the linkage to the sender until both LEDs illuminate when the sender is also at midships.

It comes with a 1 metre NMEA2000® cable and a 2 metre rudder sensor cable to allow the unit to be placed in a convenient location. It is fully waterproof to IP67 and ruggedly constructed for years of reliable and accurate service.

The unit comes with a detailed User Manual and is certified to the NMEA2000® network standard.

3350-FTC Fuel Transfer Controller

The 3350-FTC Fuel Transfer Controller displays the level of the “Day” or “Consumption” tank on boats fitted with these type of tanks.



It allows the user to start the fuel transfer from the Main or Bunker tank into the Day tank manually. It can also start the Fuel Transfer AUTOMATICALLY when the Day tank level falls below the User settable tank level.

It automatically stops the transfer when the Day tank is 95% full thus preventing overfilling and spilling of any excess fuel.

The user can also stop the transfer at any time by pressing the Stop button.



The 3350-FTC is fitted with a 10 amp relay to control the transfer pump. The unit mounts entirely in a standard 2″ diameter panel hole and the gauge front and the panel seal are both to IP66.



It has a red LED lamp that flashes when the transfer is in progress and a blue LED receiving Tank Level display that varies in brightness as the ambient light level varies.


It is certified to the NMEA2000® network standard and attaches to the network using a single “Micro” plug. It draws less than 150mA from the network.

This Fuel Transfer Controller automates and simplifies the task of transferring the fuel into the Day tank. It helps prevent expensive and environmentally damaging fuel spills.

3350-HTPO Holding Tank Pump Out Controller

The new 3350-HTPO Holding Tank Pump Out Controller displays the holding tank level on a standard 2″ Panel Gauge.



The green START button manually starts the pump out where and when allowed. The unit automatically stops the pump out when the tank is empty to avoid the pumps running dry. The user can also stop the pump out at any time by pressing the STOP button.



The 3350-HTPO is fitted with a 10 amp relay to control the pump out pump. The unit mounts in a standard 2″ diameter panel hole and the front and panel seal is to IP67.



It has a red LED lamp that flashes when the pump out is in progress and a blue LED holding tank level display that varies in brightness as the ambient light level varies.

NMEA2000® Tank Volume Computer

Offshore Systems achieve very high accuracy tank measurement by sensing the level of the fuel simultaneously in multiple locations within the tank and sending the information to the 3501 Tank Volume Computer.

The 3501 Tank Volume Computer contains a detailed 3D CAD model of the inside of the tank and by knowing the simultaneous levels in different parts of the tank can calculate the volume of fuel remaining to a very high accuracy.

The fuel level sensing is done using our well proven rugged 3271 Fuel Level Senders each linked to the NMEA2000® network. These senders have no moving parts fail or stick and can even detect water in the fuel tank.

The 3501 Tank Volume Computer is a small DIN rail mounted unit that is also attached to the same NMEA2000 network. It uses the level information from all the tank level senders in conjunction with a very detailed 3D CAD model of the inside of the fuel tank to calculate the exact volume of fuel remaining. It then transmits that information as a standard NMEA2000® message that can be displayed on any NMEA2000® enabled display.

By measuring all the tank levels simultaneously the system compensates for any changes in the vessels attitude when under power or turning or stopped and gives the same accurate result at all times.

This accuracy means that remaining range and bunkering forecasts are available at all times.

The system comes with a detailed User Manual and each element is certified to the NMEA2000® network standard.

The NMEA2000® network comprises of a single trunk or backbone cable running through the length of the vessel with Tee Adaptors positioned where devices are to be attached to the network and a terminator at each end.

The trunk or backbone cable can be created by either using made up cables or cordsets that come in a range of lengths or by running bulk cable and using field installable connectors where Tee connectors are required.

Trunk cables come in two sizes, a larger “Mini” size which is rated to carry 8 Amps or a smaller “Micro” size which is rated to carry 4 Amps.

The “Mini” trunk cable uses 12mm diameter cable and 25mm diameter connectors. The “Micro” trunk cable uses 7.5mm diameter cable and 14.5mm diameter connectors. Both types of cable are available in 0.5, 1, 2, 5 and 10 metre lengths and as bulk cable.

Most installers are using the Micro size cable as this is much easier to handle and install.

NMEA2000® Network Power

Each NMEA2000® network requires a Power T-Cable to supply the ships power to the network.

These are connected to to vessel’s 12 volt supply and ships ground and simply plugs into the trunk cable like a T Adaptor.

The Power T-Cable should be placed centrally in the trunk cable where it will provides it’s rated power to each sides of the trunk thus effectively doubling the system power load capability.

For a Mini trunk system order the Mini Powertap and a Mini Single Ended Powercord. The Mini Powertap has two replaceable fuses and LED status lights that confirm the presence of correct polarity power.

For a Micro trunk system order a Micro Power Cable which has a 2 metre cable length.

Volt Power Converter
The 3890 24 Volt Power Converter allows a standard NMEA2000®network to be powered from a ships 24 volt supply. It is fully stabilised and provides the standard output when the input can vary from 17 to 32 volts.

It comes with a complete mounting kit including a dedicated mounting bracket and screws and 1/4″ crimp connectors for the 24 volt input connection.

The unit connects to the NMEA2000® network by means of a 2 metre power Tee that has the standard Micro Plug and Socket to be included in the NMEA2000® Trunk or backbone cable.

The NMEA2000® Network Standard specifies the Mini and Micro cabling and connector specification for standard networks.

Some marine manufacturers have based their networks on non-standard connectors and we have a range of adaptors that can connect these networks to the standard cabling.

Please note that some engine manufacturers such as Suzuki, Volvoand Yamaha make their wiring the actual network backbone cable and in these cases the adapter cables end in a FEMALE socket to attach standard NMEA2000® devices to their backbone.
